What does Digital Innovation Zone offer?
Digital Innovation Zone is the EDIH in the northeast of Romania that offers support services for institutions in the healthcare and manufacturing sectors that want to digitalize their organization. We have worked with over 150 companies, 5 public health institutions, we have been collaborating on projects with EIT Health, DIH World, World Bank and RDA NE, they are part of networks like Cluster Exchange, they are a certified CHANGE2TWIN hub and ambassador for SECURIT. They provide personalized services to fulfil specific requirements and ensure seamless knowledge and technology transfers.
How has your company supported startups in their growth? Could you share an example of this?
Health Innovation Zone program that took place from June to December 2023 with the objectives closely aligned with the action plan of EIT Health and the goals of the EIT Health Drive project. It was organized by the Digital Innovation Zone, in collaboration with EIT Health, “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, and “Gr. T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi. The program was designed to support start-up activities in the healthcare sector in regions with modest and moderate innovation capacity. During the six months, the teams went through the pre-validation process, organized based on design thinking principles and frequent interaction with mentors and experts from the medical and tech fields, and access to the EIT Health innovation ecosystem.
DIH World project took place for 6 months, Digital Innovation Zone and Katty Fashion teams worked together to test Smart Modeling technology and develop a digital database of prototypes used in the fashion and textile industry. Katty Fashion, an SME from Iași active in the field of clothing, achieved a significant milestone through digital strategy mapping services by winning the 2020 EIT Manufacturing BoostUp competition for Digital Transformation in the Southeast Europe region. This success has paved the way for them to embark on further advancements in their digital prototyping technologies.
